- April, 777. Benes slays Charlemagne's nephew Enguerrand by mistake.
- May 18, 777. Charlemagne announces his fury at the Dukes at Pentecost court.
- May 19, 777. Lohier (age 16) sent with an insulting message to Benes.
- May 23, 777. The Four Sons are knighted.
- June 20, 777. Lohier killed by Benes.
