With regard to Richard’s household during the battle for Mantryble Bridge, any resemblance to people living or dead is completely deliberate. My compliments and respects to Young Lenny and the “G’s”.

      Ogier’s view of how to die is an eerie echo of how Oliver actually went in the “Song of Roland.” “When I go, my sword shall be in my hand, and the heap of pagan dead shall be so high that men will marvel forever!”
