Once there was a man who was a very successful man - he had a fine home and profession, and a wife that everyone admired - but he wasn't happy. So one day he went to his wife and said, "I'm going off in search of Truth."
Being a very careful woman she said that was fine, so long as he signed over all the assets first. So he did this and went off into the world, a beggar in search of Truth.
He searched all over, through the forests and fields, the valleys and towns, until at last he found Truth living in a cave atop a high mountain. Truth was an old woman, with deep wrinkles and a wart on her nose, but her voice was soft and mellifluous and by this he knew her.
The man studied at the foot of Truth for an entire year until at last he deemed it was time to go back into the world. He was so grateful, though, that he went to Truth and he said, "You've taught me so much. You've given me so much. Is there any way I can repay you?"
"Well," she said, leaning close, "if anyone should ask, tell them I'm young and beautiful."
